The case was heard in the High court, by presiding judge Jake Moloi on Tuesday and Wednesday. This follows an eight-year-long struggle by FSA to force the government to take responsibility for the virtually non-existent safety and security structures on the border.
FSA members and other farmers on the border suffer from crimes such as farm attacks and murders, stock theft and illegal grazing by livestock herds from Lesotho’s side, according to Kobus Breytenbach, FSA vice-president.
