This flashight/lantern has a 10 000 hour LED lifespan.

Ultra Tec is well known for its ingenious energy saving lighting technology. As a rechargeable camping light that functions equally well as an emergency lighting during power outages, its model MS5121 has few equals. For a start, it offers the choice of a 4 LED flashlight mode or a 24 LED lantern mode. The former gives a run time of 100 hours and the latter a run time of 50 hours, all on a single charge.

A three-position switch (flashlight/off/lantern) selects the mode, while a patented silver reflector increases surround light distribution by 200%. The unit has built-in discharge protection and overcharge protection circuits. The LEDs give a brilliant cool white light and have a lifetime of more than 10 000 working hours.

A built-in flip-up/down carry handle, as well as wall mounting recesses, an AC charging point (220V AC charger), a DC charging point (12V DC charger) and a red charging pilot light are all integrated into the design of the compact slim-line European-style case.

The unit must be fully charged before first use, and recharged after every use. As an emergency function, it can be left on charge with the switch on the lantern ‘on’ position. In the event of a power failure, the LED circuit will switch on automatically. This Ultra Tec AC/DC Rechargeable Emergency/Camping Multi-function LED Lantern is available at selected outdoor and sporting goods outlets for around R200 (incl VAT).
