These handy clips will keep any shade cloth in place.

Based in KwaZulu-Natal, Kevin Toucher of Klips ‘n Things is already well known to Farmer’s Weekly readers for his range of innovative and handy plastic products. Another one of these is a patented UV-stabilised Shade Cloth Clip that makes the construction, maintenance and neatness of any shade cloth or hail net structure, such as a crop tunnel or a carport shade, a breeze.

On the South African market for over 15 years, the product is still selling very well but with the difference of now being available in a range of colours to suit the customer’s taste. “They work by securely and permanently fastening shade cloth or hail netting to the wire used as part of a structure’s frame,” explains Kevin. “The advantage is that they can easily be removed and refitted if any adjustments for stretch have to be made.”

The small size Shade Cloth Clip fits over 8 gauge wire or 6mm cable, while the large size Shade Cloth Clip can be used on 12mm cable. The Shade Cloth Clips are currently only available directly from Kevin. Prices are available on request but range from about R16 for a pack of 10 large clips and R32 for a pack of 20 large clips. The bulk pack of 1 000 large clips sells for R1 425 (incl VAT).
