Improve the comfort of your sows during farrowing with this new pen.
The new farming approach to more comfortable pigs has at times led to heated discussions worldwide about the well-being of these animals. One of the topics of concern is to provide sufficient space and more freedom of movement for sows in farrowing pens. WEDA Dammann & Westerkamp GmbH from Lutten in Germany has developed a novel solution in an easy to operate freedom-of-movement pen for sows.
This ergonomic version combines proven standard elements with the ability of the piggery manager to easily open and lock the side wall of the sow’s pen with one hand, giving the sow more freedom of movement. The door flap construction and a new user-friendly locking mechanism is easy to install and practically free of wear and tear to reduce maintenance, replacement parts or service. Irrespective of different floors and unit sizes, the WEDA system is universally applicable.
