Lemken, which is based in Alpen, Germany, is a major manufacturer of soil cultivation, sowing and crop protection machines. It employs 1 200 people worldwide and its turnover in 2014 was €344 million (R5,3 billion). Here are two of its new products to watch out for.
GIGANT HELIODOR 9
With a working width of 16m and covering up to 25ha/hour, the Heliodor 9 combined with the Gigant 12S system carrier is highly efficient on large-scale farms.
The disc diameter has been enlarged from 465mm to 510mm to ensure a long disc service life and enable the maximum working depth to be increased by 20mm to 140mm.
The new Gigant is attached to the tractor’s double-clip drawbar via a drawbar eye. The two 4m sections of the Heliodor 9, which combine to form 8m units, are attached to the two three-point linkages of the Gigant system carrier. The two 8m sections adjust independently to surface contours.
The three-point linkages are connected to double-acting control units to transfer that weight from the system carrier to the Heliodor sections, especially in hard soils. As a result, the Heliodor consistently delivers optimal quality of work, despite its large working width.
HELIODOR 9 COMPACT DISC HARROW
The new Heliodor 9 has 510mm diameter discs, resulting in a longer service life. This implement’s maximum working depth has also increased to 140mm.
Hydraulic working depth adjustment for mounted, folding and folding semi-mounted models is an option. If the compact disc harrow is used mainly for seedbed preparation, the working depth of the discs running in the tractor track can be adjusted separately via a hole matrix. This ensures optimum levelling, even of the tracks made by the tractor.
The Heliodor 9 will now also be available in 4,5m and 7m working widths, both mounted and semi-mounted.
