135 000 ha lost to Free State veld fires.

Nearly 135 000 ha have been destroyed in veld fires in the Free State.

Free State Agriculture (FSA) chairman Dan Kriek called for aid to assist the fire stricken farmers. Strong winds can be expected for the rest of August and farmers are called upon to remain vigilant and stay on their farms as far as possible.
