Zokwana to present plans for a million jobs

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Senzeni Zokwana will present the department’s annual strategic plans to parliament on Wednesday, 16 July.

Acording to a media statement by DAFF, the main focus of the plans will be the current state of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in South Africa, placing these within the global context. The speech will also highlight how the department plans to create a million jobs in agriculture by 2030, as part of the National Development Plan.

Zokwana will also address the inclusion of more young people in agriculture, with the department investing in programmes that strengthen relationships with communities through social mobilisation.
