The winery was awarded seven double gold and 10 gold medals. Spier winery in Stellenbosch followed closely with seven double gold and six gold medals. Paarl-based Nederburg received six double gold and 10 gold medals.
In the brandy category, KWV took the lead with two double gold and four gold medals, while Oude Meester and Van Ryn each won double gold and two gold awards.
First time entrant Elsenburg Agricultural College was awarded a double gold medal.
