“Some of us might think that we can threaten or change the government’s policy by taking them to court,” said Ryno van der Merwe, former chairperson of the Namibian Agricultural Union, at the recent Stockman School near Bloemfontein.

“If we do this we might run the risk of alienating government,” he said.

Turning to Namibia’s land transformation, Van der Merwe said that after independence the protected environment the minority white commercial farmers were used to, change.
