Tsepiso Ramonyane and Bonginkosi Nyawose brutally bludgeoninged Dan Knight (55) of Underberg to death in October last year.

Previous media reports indicated that in addition to also being attacked during the incident, Knight’s long-time partner, Beth Bucher, had been forced to watch Knight being murdered.

The case was heard in the Pietermaritzburg High Court.

“This should send a strong message to those who have taken [it] upon themselves to attack innocent people that the long arm of [the] law will always catch up with them,” the statement quoted Mchunu as saying.

The MEC praised KZN police for the “meticulous” investigation that they conducted to secure the arrests and imprisonment of Ramonyane and Nyawose.
