Traditional farmer hospitality will ensure that the expected 70 000 visitors can do business and enjoy viewing the livestock, giant equipment, 4x4s, agricultural patent competition entries, as well as sample some great food.

This year, a transport system consisting of six custom-made wagons, which will cover three routes, has been introduced to make the site more accessible to visitors who find it difficult to move around.

“Visit the experimental sites of eight seed companies located to the east of the grounds. This is a new addition to the Harvest Day that enables producers to view cultivars under practical conditions,” said Cobus van Coller, chairperson of Nampo Harvest Day.

During the week-long Nampo, Grain SA will also host local and foreign politicians and policymakers to give them first-hand experience of local agriculture and the people behind it. As representatives of the entire grain value chain will be attending Nampo, there will be ample opportunity for networking and strengthening relationships.

Tickets will be R90/person on Tuesday and Friday, and R100/person on Wednesday and Thursday. Entrance for pre-school children as well as parking will be free. Tune in to Grain SA Radio at 99.2 FM for traffic reports and up-to-date Harvest Day information.

Gates open at 7am and close at 5pm. No pets, bicycles, carts or motorcycles will be allowed on the premises. A site map, alphabetical listing of exhibitors, daily programme and a summary of refreshment points can be found in a free booklet available at entrance gates. The Nampo app can also be downloaded from your favourite online store.
