The outbreak occurred in Ohangwena, the far northern parts of the Oshikoto region, the eastern part of Oshana as well as in the Omusati region north of the Oshakati-Ruacana road.
Schneider said the Outjo, Kamanjab, Tsumeb, Otavi, Grootfontein and Gobabis farmer associations were responsible for the inspection, disinfection and monitoring of vehicles and people at the Werda and Anderson gates, among others.
Five hundred thousand units of vaccines were made available in the affected areas. Additional vaccines were received from the Botswana Vaccine Institute, according to the Namibian Republikein newspaper.
