While searching for two of the house’s residents who were suspected of housebreaking, Mtubatuba SAPS members discovered 200 dagga plants being grown hydroponically on the premises.

According to KZN SAPS spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker, the suspects, aged 21 and 35, were immediately arrested on charges of both housebreaking and for being in possession of dagga.

The KZN SAPS estimated the street value of the plants in the house at R150 000.
