The website makes donations easy with payment options ranging from electronic fund transfers, Snapscan payments, Pay Fast, and an SMS option of a R30 donation. You can also donate animal feed.

Johan Grobler, assistant general manager at Senwes, said they are supporting Agri SA with marketing and communication of the project.

“Agri SA will make need assessments via farmer’s organisations and spread funds and feed,” Grobler said.

The cash component of donations will be used solely for humanitarian needs.

“For us it is important that organised agriculture takes control of distribution. It is also important that people outside of agriculture are mobilised, as farmers are currently all in need.

The project kicked off on Monday and is only now gaining momentum.

Members of Agri SA have already spoken about the project on eTV, other TV shows and radio programs.
