Concert to raise funds for ‘Boere in Nood’

Three music concerts in aid of ‘Boere in Nood’ (BIN) will be staged at the Jacaranda Agricultural Show from 24 to 28 August.

According to Santie Roux, spokesperson for BIN, farmers in the drought-affected areas of the Free State, North West, Limpopo, certain areas of KwaZulu-Natal, as well as the Northern Cape, Eastern Cape and Western Cape, have been particularly hard hit.

These concerts create an ideal opportunity to raise funds and show support for the country’s producers, while also informing the public about the enormity of the crisis, she says.

Some of the country’s top musicians will be performing, and the line-up will be:

The Jacaranda Show will be held at the Tshwane Events Centre, and a full programme of equestrian, cattle, poultry and fancy pigeon events will be on offer. In addition, the Afrikaner Cattle World Expo, a Youth Show, and a special hall for women’s interest will be featured.

General information

The gates open at 8am and will remain open until after the concerts, while halls will be open from 9am to 6pm. Tickets prices are: R70 per person for adults, R50 for scholars, while for pre-schoolers entrance is free. Parking is available in WF Nkomo (Church) Street at R20 per vehicle.
