This is so that BIN’s auditors can conduct an investigation, following concerns about the possible misappropriation of funds donated to the organisation.
An interdict has also been issued preventing him from interfering with the organisation’s Facebook group.
Management team members, Carina Swartz and Nico Gerber, filed the application after Schoombee’s failure to provide BIN bank statements since April this year.
According to a statement by BIN’s lawyers, the organisation’s original accounts were all in Schoombee’s name, giving him exclusive access to them.
When the organisation was officially registered earlier this year, a new account was opened, but Schoombee failed to provide statements for the old account.
Schoombee posted a statement on the organisation’s Facebook page stating that he had transferred all outstanding money to the new bank account.
He also pleaded with members of the group to carry on donating money so that BIN could continue assisting farmers in dire need.
The organisation has raised hundreds of thousands of rands and helped more than 1 000 farmers since its establishment in November last year.
