Food insecurity remains despite surpluses

Despite an increase of 5.8% in the agricultural sector, food insecurity still remains at a high level in South Africa.

The general household survey conducted by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) puts the amount of people vulnerable to hunger at 11,5%.
