New Limpopo agriculture safety structure

The Limpopo Landelike Veilighiedstruktuur has been formed by TAU SA and Agri Limpopo.

The new security structure “will work closely with the SAPS, from police station level to senior SAPS structures,” said a press release.

Existing manpower will now be used in a more co-ordinated fashion, joint communication channels established and rural safety structures established where none exist. “There have been good relations between organised agriculture and SAPS top management since 2015,” said the release.

Willem van Jaarsveld, head executive manager of Agri Limpopo, and Drickus Botha from TAU SA North, urged rural residents who are not part of organised agricultural structures to support the initiative and help prevent rural crime.
