Retailers must explain high margins on fresh produce

A recent report on fresh produce price trends by the Competition Commission found that “competition in retail markets may not be functioning well” based on the fact that declining prices on fresh produce markets had not been reflected in declining shelf prices for retailers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
