The Farmer’s Weekly tour to Sommet de l’Élevage

(Bookings are closed) Readers are invited to join Farmer’s Weekly on tour to the Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes region in France to attend the leading European forum for livestock professionals, the Sommet de l’Élevage in Clermont-Ferrand and Cournon.

(Bookings are closed) Europe’s No. 1 Livestock Show 30 September – 7 October 2017. The event is one of the largest international trade shows that specialises in livestock production. Over three days, the SOMMET DE l’Élevage offers a comprehensive programme including farm visits, professional events, practical demonstrations and conferences dealing with agriculture current affairs.

Package includes:

  • Five nights in 3-star hotel accommodation in twin beds sharing. Breakfast and dinner provided.
  • Meals as per the programme: all breakfasts, one lunch, four dinners.
  • Ground transportation in exclusive coaches throughout the tour.
  • English-speaking tour leader throughout the tour.
  • All visits to farms, tastings, and tourist attractions according to the programme.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Return flights from Johannesburg.

Package excludes:

  • All personal expenses while in France.
  • Meals or drinks other than those stated in the
    programme.
  • Anything else not mentioned in the inclusions above.

Tour Programme:

Day 1: Saturday, 30 September
Depart from OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, for Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport, Lyon, aboard Emirates Airline.

Day 2: Sunday, 1 October
Arrival and hotel check–in, Lyon.

Day 3: Monday, 2 October
Guided walking tour of Lyon’s ‘old town’, lunch at a traditional restaurant, and a visit to a Beaujolais winery for tasting and dinner. Transfer and check-in at hotel in Le Mont-Dore.

Day 4: Tuesday, 3 October
Full day at Sommet de l’Élevage, including farm tours.

Day 5: Wednesday, 4 October
Full day at Sommet de l’Élevage.

Day 6: Thursday, 5 October (B/-/D)
Full day at Sommet de l’Élevage, including farm tours.

Day 7: Friday, 6 October
Depart from Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport, Lyon, for OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg, aboard Emirates airline.
