This was according to Japie Grobler, chairperson of the Agri-Sector Unity Forum of South Africa (ASUF). New opportunities must be created for smallholders to participate in the commercial value chain, said Grobler at the 2014 Free State Agriculture (FSA) congress.

”The dualism was, to a certain extent, caused by policymakers and must therefore be adressed by them without compromising competitiveness and production. ASUF has positioned itself to bridge this dualism and to promote the key role of agicultuture in nation building.”
