Fiscal and monetary stability, the implementation of the National Development Plan and strong regional growth were some of the factors to be positive about, he said at the National Milk Producers Organisation’s annual congress in Bloemfontein recently.

South Africa’s total net government debt as a percentage of gross domestic product, or the total value of goods and services created in the economy, remains low by international standards, said Botha.

Adequate fiscal resources exist to fund both current public expenditure and infrastructure projects, while, over the past decade, inflation has declined to structurally lower levels, he said.
