Brisk rhino buying at wildlife auction

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife’s annual game auction, held at Sibaya Casino in Durban on 25 May, raised R11,8 million, significantly higher than organisers’ expectation of R8 million and up from last year’s tally of R8,5 million.

The bulk of monies raised came from the auction of white rhino. Forty white rhino fell under the hammer, making this the biggest rhino auction in the world.
