Emergency relief for Northern Cape fire victims

Up to 215 000ha grazing was destroyed in the recent veld fires in the Kuruman and Koopmansfontein areas in the Northern Cape,

and the provincial department of agriculture has made R2,75 million available in emergency relief for the farming communities affected. Agri Northern Cape has meanwhile requested that a disaster area be declared. Agri Northern Cape said the initial amount was available immediately and it would coordinate the transport of feed that has already been donated from different areas. The president of Agri NC, Henk van Wyk said they are truly grateful for the support from the Department.
