The on-going drought will not affect the amount of visitors or exhibitors to attend this year’s Nampo Harvest Day which will mark the 50th anniversary of this event.

The purchasing power of farmers and other visitors who will attend Nampo this year may however be affected by the drought and poor economic conditions in the country, but this was almost impossible to predict, said Johan Loxton, manager of commercial services at Grain SA.

“The expectation for this year is that the amount of people and exhibitors will stay the same as last year when about 70 000 attended the event,” said Loxton.

Nampo offers farmers and businesses in the agriculture sector opportunities to find out about new products and to network with other industry role-players, said Loxton.
