Due to be hosted at Bredasdorp Park from 10 to 13 September, this year’s expo is themed ’Smart Technology for Efficient Resource Management’.
Presented by Bredasdorp Park non-profit company (NPC), in collaboration with Grain SA, the event promises to be the most dynamic yet, with cutting-edge displays, hands-on demonstrations, and family-friendly activities.
“Technology has become essential to navigating the future of farming. Whether it’s artificial intelligence (AI), sensors, drones, or data platforms, these innovations will help farmers make better decisions, save resources, and stay competitive. At Nampo Cape, we bring those solutions to life in a real-world environment,” said Dr Dirk Strydom, managing director of Nampo (Pty) Ltd.
“Smart resource management is not a luxury anymore – it’s a necessity for every producer who wants to remain viable and future-ready.” He said Nampo Cape continues to grow in significance as a platform where innovation, tradition and agricultural excellence come together.
Refreshed experience
“Together with Bredasdorp Park NPC, we are proud to offer a refreshed experience that connects farmers, Agri-professionals, and families with the cutting-edge developments shaping our sector’s future,” Strydom said.
Henk Aggenbach, chairperson of Bredasdorp Park NPC, added: “This year’s upgrades and additions are a direct response to the needs and ideas of our farming community, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to what promises to be our best expo yet.”
With sprawling 28ha outdoor exhibition space and over 10 000m² of indoor displays, Nampo Cape offers ample room to showcase the very best in agricultural innovation, equipment, and experiences.
Visitors can expect thrilling tent pegging matches at the Western Cape Lubricants Arena, including an international competition between South Africa and Australia, while the expanded Landbank Livestock Tent will showcase new sheep and cattle breeds such as Limousin, Chianina, and Île-de-France.
A major crowd-pleaser is sure to be Overberg Aviation’s helicopter rides, offering aerial views of the expo and the scenic Overberg region. On 11 and 12 September, the BKB Merino Classic returns, alongside the new National Merino Fleece Show, with hundreds of entries celebrating the best in South African wool production.
Smart agriculture tools
Other highlights throughout the four-day expo include real-time demonstrations of smart agriculture tools such as AI-driven decision-making systems, autonomous tractors, precision farming with satellite and GPS technology, smart irrigation systems, and protected vegetable production innovations.
Attendees can also explore the new Neptun Deli, featuring artisanal food products, wine, and local delicacies, while enjoying refreshments at the Napier Garden Café.
Organised agriculture plays a vital role at the expo, with Grain SA, Vinpro, the Red Meat Producers’ Organisation, and the Milk Producers Organisation leading critical strategy sessions in the Santam Auditorium.
The Santam Women’s Programme will feature celebrity guests including Bok van Blerk, Jo Black, and Andriëtte Norman, while children and schools will benefit from engaging youth shows, educational experiences, and livestock showcases like the South African Boerboel Breeders Society’s Boerboel Championship.
“Nampo Cape continues to grow in significance as a platform where innovation, tradition and agricultural excellence come together,” added Strydom.
