At a recent press conference, Federico Belloto, business director of New Holland South Africa and Middle East, said that there would be 25 staff in a Pretoria office, with 19 support staff. As the new business became established foreign staff would be replaced by locals.

The move means there will be a local service team, a parts warehouse operated by New Holland, and a logistics team able to get parts to anywhere in SA within three days, Belloto said.

New Holland would assure a three-month price stability for buyers, which meant the fluctuating exchange rate would less severely influence producers buying new equipment.

He feels Farmer’s Weekly is a platform for both developed and emerging farmers to learn additional farming skills and therefore takes the job of relaying practical information seriously.
