Sapa reported that the man was caught between Lothair and Mpuluzi in Ermelo.

“Police were busy with their routine patrol when they spotted a suspicious-looking Toyota Tazz,” said SAPS spokesperson Colonel Leonard Hlathi.

All the passenger seats were removed from the car and 20 sheep were loaded inside. Upon inspection the police found that 16 of the sheep had died of suffocation.

Hlathi said interrogations revealed that the sheep were stolen from a farm in Lothair. The driver of the vehicle failed to produce any permits to transport the stock or proof of purchase.
