“The accident scene was not a pleasant site – live sheep on top and between dead sheep, with severely broken legs, jaws and other injuries. Our Inspectors had to emergency destroy a large amount of sheep due to the severity of their injuries and to end their suffering,” the SPCA Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark’ posted on its Facebook page.

The truck driver escaped injuries, while the uninjured sheep were transported to their end destination.
