Over 1 100 cattle from 15 breeds will compete at the Edmonton Expo Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, in November. The national shows for Angus, Gelbvieh, and Lowline cattle will also be hosted at the show.
International producers have the opportunity to participate in the Inbound Buyer Program, through which FFI coordinates with Canadian breeders and genetics companies to support international buyers in travelling to and attending the show.
The programme also offers buyers customised support and access to specialised itineraries, including a farm and industry tour day, invitations to special beef-related events, and pre- and post-show tour support.
Buyers participating in the programme will be reimbursed 50% of their economy airfare, and receive CAD$100 per diem when participating in the programme, which has been made possible with the support of the Canadian Beef Breeds Council.
According to PJ Budler, general manager of TheCattleMarket.net LLC, Canadian beef cattle genetics have proven to be the most widely celebrated across the globe.
“Canadian breeders are cautious, professional, passionate and scientific in the way in which they propagate balanced, functionally efficient, adaptable genetics. For this reason, these cattle work across all markets and environments”, said Budler.
“Canadian [beef cattle] genetics offer the bone, muscle and growth that the South African industry demands. Angus, Charolais, Hereford, Limousin, Shorthorn and Simmental genetics from Canada dominate showings, sale barns and pastures all over the globe.
Take advantage of the opportunity to go to FFI, you’re guaranteed to return with great memories, educational experiences, amazing friends from across the world and a tank full of progressive genetics.”
This year’s programme will run from 7 to 12 November. Interested parties can apply at farmfairinternational.com.
