According to Eskom spokesperson Andrew Etzinger, as the rainy weather subsided over the weekend, performance has improved at the electricity parastatal’s power stations.
Earlier this month, Eskom declared a power emergency, coupled with widespread blackouts. It was the fourth power emergency since November last year. Eskom said that the latest emergency was due to adverse weather, which resulted in wet coal.
