This was according to Agri North West chairperson Cor Janse van Vuuren after the North West government announced that title deeds for four farms – to the value of R12, 3 million – were recently handed over to the Barolong Boo Makgobi Community in the province.

North West MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development Desbo Mohono said another 23 farms in the Ratlou Local Municipality are to be restored to communities who lost land because of the 1913 Land Act. She called on the communities who received the title deeds for the four farms to use them productively. "The recapitalisation and development of farms for which we are handing over title deeds will ensure that the farms are run as sustainable and profitable business enterprises," said Mohono.
