This year, ISUZU will exhibit special edition models, such as the SBR 500 and JCR 800 trucks, alongside the latest iteration of its versatile SUV: the new MU-X, which has been designed for modern farming, mining, and off-road lifestyles.
Built on decades of trust with the agricultural community, ISUZU’s presence at Nampo 2025 will celebrate its legacy of rugged off-road durability, trusted reliability, and innovation.
From sprawling farms to remote mining sites, ISUZU’s vehicles are engineered to perform where it matters most: on the ground, in the dirt, and under pressure.
“Bold Beyond Harvest is more than a tagline,” says Iviwe Poti, marketing manager at ISUZU Motors South Africa.
“It’s a reflection of our commitment to serve the hardworking men and women in agriculture and beyond, delivering vehicles that not only endure but empower.”
New MU-X: Comfort meets capability
The new MU-X makes its debut at Nampo 2025, and offers a blend of rugged 4×4 performance with premium lifestyle features.
Enhanced inside and out, the 2025 model line-up raises the bar with improved styling, upgraded technology and safety, and refined driving dynamics. The range is also being bolstered with the addition of a new flagship model, the three-litre 4×4 ONYX XT, which adds an extra layer of exclusivity to the line-up.
Trucks built for the demands of industry
Tailored for agricultural industry professionals and the mining sector, the showcased SBR 500 and JCR 800 special edition trucks demonstrate ISUZU’s continued innovation in commercial vehicle design.
“These vehicles deliver the power, payload capacity, and versatility required by modern farmers in South Africa,” adds Poti.
Originally launched in the 1970s, the SBR 500 quickly became the backbone of various industries, from logistics and agriculture to construction and recovery.
Its enduring performance has left many of these trucks operational today, underscoring the strength of ISUZU’s engineering and aftersales support.
The JCR 800, introduced during South Africa’s industrial boom in the 1980s, is a symbol of ISUZU’s dedication to meeting the demands of expanding businesses and municipalities.
With its remarkable durability, efficiency, and adaptability, this truck became a trusted workhorse in industries ranging from logistics to agriculture.
While succeeded by newer models, the Special Edition JCR 800’s reputation as a dependable and cost-efficient, medium-duty truck remains intact. It boasts a GVM of 15 000kg and payload capacity of 9 940kg, while offering optimal profitability and durability. Larger tyres also allow it better access to construction sites and rural environments.
A legacy rooted in the land
With deep ties to the agriculture sector, ISUZU has long been the vehicle of choice for farmers across South Africa. Designed to handle the harshest environments with ease, ISUZU vehicles are essential tools for transporting goods and enabling smart farming operations.
