The PistenBully’s low footprint pressure and go-anywhere ability makes it the ideal choice for access to remote places for equipment, cargo haulage, rescue, snow-clearing or specialised transport in hostile, far-below-zero environments.

In the Northern hemisphere, especially at high altitudes, the PistenBully is a common workhorse. The PistenBully family demonstrates the versatility of track-driven vehicles, ranging from the 490hp PistenBully 600 Polar snow-moving giant to the PistenBully Scout, a small, agile cost-effective bundle of power and flexibility. This remarkable German machine has other applications far removed from its traditional Snow Cat uses. Its wide, caterpillar-type tracks ensure low-ground footprint pressure, allowing it to practically float over the loosest and most yielding surfaces, while a low centre of gravity enables it to work unconcerned horizontally along slopes of up to 60%.

It offers plenty of space next to the driver for four other people in a spacious, comfortable and safe cab. Tools and equipment can be stowed away on its large platform at the rear. The PistenBully Scout can cope with heavy loads, carrying up to 750kg with ease. Public utility companies in water, oil, gas and telecommunications industries use the PistenBully Scout to extend or service their network. As an emergency and rescue vehicle, it safely recovers and rescues people from the most extreme spots. A PistenBully Scout is also a worthy addition to a fleet of any adventure or tourism operator.

To provide an optimum degree of strength in the most varied applications on snow or earth, different tracks made of aluminium, steel, rubber and plastic are adapted to suit the vehicle, job and prevailing weather conditions. The PistenBully is available in South Africa through an agent and prices range from R1,5 million to R1,9 million. It could make economical sense for farmers to buy one as a consortium.
