The highest price of the day was paid for the filly Ambrym by Erupt out of Modern Muse, which was sold by Triple 8 Clothing to Justin Vermaak for R102 500.
The second-highest price of the day was paid for the mare Talitha Borealis by Ideal World out of Sweet Sequel, which was sold by Winterbach Stud to Ralph Katzwinkel for R80 000.
The third-highest price of the day was paid for the gelding Prime Example by Canford Cliffs out of Sharp Mistress, which was sold to DJ Jazzy D (to dissolve a partnership) for R70 000.
The aggregate for the 2023 sale was R696 000, up from the R201 000 achieved in 2022. The average price per lot for the 2023 sale was R38 667, up from the average of R13 400 in 2022.
The sale was held by Bloodstock South Africa.
