The GPIC courses are designed to build the capabilities of newcomers to the grain processing industry or those already working in the field seeking to increase their profitability and efficiency.
The curriculum includes the Fundamentals of Rice Milling and Optical Sorting levels 1, 2, and 3. Course are led by seasoned industry leaders with decades of experience, ensuring participants benefit from top-tier education and training.
The format combines classroom instruction with practical sessions, using the Bühler GPIC facility’s state-of-the-art equipment.
The GPIC’s goal is about more than education – it is about empowering participants with skills and knowledge that directly translate to increased profitability and efficiency in their businesses.
In this way, the centre is also contributing to food security and supporting the sustainability and profitability of food production across Africa.
“We are committed to driving innovation in grain processing and supporting the growth of this industry in Nigeria and Africa,” says Head of the GPIC, Mustafa Rajab.
A valuable opportunity
Anyone involved in food production is encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to upskill themselves and their staff in rice milling and optical sorting for better production outcomes. NGOs and international NGOs interested in advancing food security in Africa through upskilling are also invited to get in touch with the GPIC and drive collaboration.
Additionally, the GPIC operates as a training centre aimed at empowering food processors across the region. It has hosted numerous sessions for individuals and companies and, in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP) and GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), has successfully trained over 60 rice millers.
