Afasa disappointed by deputy presidents’ snub

The no-show of both SA’s deputy president, Kgalema Motlanthe, and ANC deputy president Cyril Ramaphosaat at the AGM of the African Farmers’ Association of South Africa (Afasa) in Pretoria recently, has disappointed the organisation.

Both Motlanthe and Ramaphosa were invited as guest speakers, and their ‘snub’ created the impression that farmers weren’t taken seriously, said Afasa president Mike Mlengana.

“We made sure we invited them three months prior to the event, but they said they couldn’t make it at the last hour,” said Mlengana.
