Consultation on reopening of claims continues

The countrywide public consultation process on the Restitution of Land Rights Amendment Bill will continue next week (13 January).

This will afford interested people and stakeholders an opportunity to comment on the Bill, which is currently before the Portfolio Committee on Rural Development and Land Reform.

The Bill seeks to amend the cut-off date for lodging land restitution claims. It will also make provision for the advertisement of claims and regulate the appointment of a land claims court judge.
