The North West MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development Desbo Mohono is pleased with the rising number of young females qualifying as professionals in the field of agriculture this year.

“This must be seen as a solid response to agricultural transformation,” said Mohono.

The number of female graduates has grown from 12 last year to 15, and 38 students from the Potchefstroom College of Agriculture and Taung Agricultural College will be graduating at the Potchefstroom College of Agriculture’s Alex Holm Hall, North West on 6 December 2013.

The intensive 3-year mixed farming programme offered at the colleges exposed the graduates to a combination of theory and hands-on training.
