By the same time last year 448 rhinos had been killed. No fewer than 362 rhinos have been killed in the Kruger National Park this year alone. North West, KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo continued to be the hardest hit by poachers, accounting for 186 of the poached animals.
Rhino poaching keeps rising
The total number of rhinos lost to poaching since the beginning of this year stood at 588, with 246 suspects being arrested.
