Senwes develops soccer talent

Soccer talent and prowess were evident at the recent Senwes Inter-provincial Soccer Tournament held in Klerksdorp, according to Senwes spokesperson Japie Fransman.

Primary school under-13 teams from Matlosana and Tlokwe in the North West as well Nala and Moqhaka in the Free State took part in the tournament.

The Matlosana girls team, Are Fenyeng, won the girls division while the Matlosana boys team, Thea Morafe, took top honours in the boys’ division.

The top players in the girls’ division were Shirley Mofokeng of the Are Fenyeng team (most goals in the tournament), Moshou Onthatile of the Boiterelo team (goalkeeper of the tournament), Oratile Malashe of the Tjantjello team (best player) and Mojaki Hlaudi of the Are Fenyeng team (best coach).

In the boys’ division Itumeleng Kgomongwe of the Thea Morafe team was named best goal kicker as well as the best player. Orapetse Nkomo, also of the Thea Morafe team, was the best goal keeper and TJ Motsatsi of the same team was named coach of the tournament.
