Iberian pigs roam the Spanish countryside on extensive farms where they feed on acorns, natural grasses and herbs. This is what gives the meat its special flavour.

Iberian ham has a particularly vibrant, red colour due to its higher myoglobin levels. The intermuscular fat is as a result of the pigs‘ active lifestyles, roaming the hills as they search for acorns.
