From 1 August the benefits of the All Cluster Wild – which gives tour guides access to South African National Parks (SANParks), Msinsi Resorts and Reserves and Big Game Parks of Swaziland – were extended to include KwaZulu-Natal Wildlife, excluding parks under the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park authority. I n an effort to promote tourism, SANParks established the Wild Card incentive scheme for tour operators. It is aimed at eliminating paper vouchers and the resulting theft and fraud that may occur when large tour groups enter its parks. Participating tour operators are given a Wild terminal and the required number of Wild Cards to be carried by its tour guides and drivers. At any time prior to arrival at any national park gate, the operator will electronically purchase the appropriate number of vouchers from SANParks and load them onto the tour guide’s Wild Card. zemvelo KZN Wildlife said that an All Cluster Wild Card would now give cardholders access to 88 parks.
