 Land and agriculture minister Lulama Xingwana and her Malaysian counterpart Haji Muhyiddin bin Mohd Yassin recently agreed to cooperate in agricultural trade, export of goat meat and goat products, dairy products, and disease control in citrus and guava fruit. Cooperation between the two countries’ agricultural research institutes to share research information in livestock breeding, animal and plant diseases, biofuels, aquaculture, agro-processing and biosciences was also discussed. Xingwana said the agreement will benefit the farming communities of both countries as well as SA’s biofuels industry. – Wilma den Hartigh
