Tierhoek organic jams it up

With just one season under its belt, Tierhoek’s Organic apricot jam and peach jam were declared winners in the category of the recent Sunday Times Good Taste Awards 2007.

These awards were presented to various South African producers “for their innovative creations that celebrate local ingredients”. Using only fruit and vegetables grown on their certified-organic farm, Alison and Bruce Gilson, along with their production team, developed the Tierhoek Organic range to reflect the quality, flavour and variety of their organic produce. “We were very excited to receive this award,” explained Alison. “It is a wonderful reflection of the hard work done in the orchards and in the kitchen, and it is great recognition for our staff and our produce.” he Tierhoek Organic range includes apricot, peach, plum and quince jam, quince and coriander jelly, plum and cardamom jelly, dried apricots, dried peaches, dried tomatoes, naartjie crisps and a dried chilli and tomato grinder. – Staff reporter
