“We obviously don’t expect the UN to hear the presentations and then come flying in with its Mirages, but I think the important point for us is raising awareness in the right places,” said AfriForum’s deputy CEO Ernst Roets. AfriForum hopes that sufficient pressure would then be placed on government to begin actively addressing farm attacks. The petition is available at www.hoelanknog.afriforum.co.za and can be signed before 1 November, after which the final presentation for the UN Forum on Minority Issues will be prepared.
