The Africa Protein Alliance (APA) is a pan-African platform aimed at strengthening collaboration across the continent’s protein value chain and accelerating food security, investment, trade, and sustainable economic growth. The launch event, to be held at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium Conference Centre, will bring together key stakeholders committed to advancing Africa’s cattle, poultry, aquaculture, game, dairy, and broader protein industries.

The APA was established to create a collaborative ecosystem that connects producers, processors, researchers, financial institutions, retailers, policymakers, and investors to unlock opportunities across the continent’s protein economy.

The launch programme will feature thought leaders and representatives from local government, development finance institutions, universities, research organisations, business chambers, and the private sector, who will share perspectives on strengthening Africa’s protein value chain through innovation, investment, and strategic partnerships.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Mxolisi Nangu, chairperson of the APA, said: “Africa possesses enormous agricultural potential, yet millions continue to face food insecurity while businesses struggle to access markets, finance, and strategic partnerships.

“The Africa Protein Alliance has been established to bridge these gaps by creating a collaborative platform that promotes innovation, investment, enterprise development, and sustainable growth throughout the protein value chain.”
