ANC appealing hate speech ruling

“Shoot the Boer” will come under scrutiny once more on 3 September when the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein will decide whether the song constitutes hate speech or not.

This follows after the ANC on the quiet had appealed against a ruling by acting Judge Leon Halgryn in the South Gauteng High Court in May last year. According to the ruling the song not only constituted hate speech but also amounted to incitement to murder.
