George Nicholas moves to Eastern Cape

George Nicholas, who has been associated with Farmer’s Weekly since 1944, was recently treated to a farewell luncheon at AgriSA’s Centurion offices.

George and his wife Connie are to settle in Stutterheim in the Eastern Cape. He will still be associated with Farmer’s Weekly on a freelance basis. George started as a cadet reporter at the magazine’s Bloemfontein office and subsequently served in the Western Cape, Harare (then Salisbury) and eventually in Pretoria. He retired from active reporting in 1988 and has been honorary president of the SA Agricultural Writers Association since 1985.
