The bank’s insurance division, Land Bank Insurance Company, will also be launching a new agricultural asset insurance product for emerging farmers – a first for the sector, according to CEO, TP Nchocho.

The Land Bank had increased financing for empowerment and transformation projects in the sector over the past five years, to support emerging black farmers and industrialists, he said in a statement.

However, Nchocho acknowledged that more needed to be done to drive shared and inclusive growth in the sector.
